Jose I. Lara, of Rockford, passed away on October 20, 2022, in Alden Park Strathmoor. He was born on April 20, 1942, in Mexico, the son of Eleauterio and Marciana Lara-Manriqruez. Jose really enjoyed DIY projects. He was called “Bob the Builder” or “Mr. Fix-it”. He enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together. He enjoyed watching home improvement shows such as “This Old House”. He worked for and retired from Top Die Cast in South Beloit as a furnace operator. His survived by his wife Francisca; daughters Rose (Arturo Hernandez) Lara-Hernandez and Monica (Richard) Marchione; granddaughters Trinidad and Coraline Hernandez; many brothers, sister, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and 2 brothers and 1 sister. Private services will be held in Mexico with a date and time be established.
