John Leonard Watson, 62, of Loves Park, passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2026.
John was born October 7, 1963 in Rockford, the son of Harry Leslie and Viola Jean (Brough) Watson. He graduated from Rockford West in the class of 1981.
John loved NASCAR, the Munsters and playing slot machines. He also enjoyed spending time looking at posts on Facebook and watching Fox News. John was a big fan of collecting monsters and enjoyed the lore around Bigfoot and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. He loved animals and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his siblings: Randy (Eva) Watson, Ron (Sue) Watson, and Diane (Richie) Coogan; sisters in-law: Fran Watson and Linda Watson; nieces and nephews: Travis, J.D., Loribeth, Tina, Mark, Krissy and Corey.
John was preceded in death by his parents; Leslie Watson, Clayton Watson, and Michelle Watson.
John loved his family and the Lord.
