John Anthony Russo, 49, of Poplar Grove, IL, passed away in the early hours of July 9th, 2025. Born on December 4, 1975, in Chicago, IL, John lived a life marked by hard work, loyalty, and deep devotion to his family.
For the past 20 years, John worked in waste management - a job he took pride in. He was known for his strong work ethic, sharp wit, and the quiet strength he brought to everything he did.
On October 10, 2008, John married Carli Russo. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. He was a devoted father to his children, Payton and JJ Russo. Whether he was coaching Payton's softball team, playing football in the yard with JJ, or taking both kids out fishing, one of their favorite shared pastimes - John was happiest when he was with his family. He also enjoyed working on his '91 mustang, a project that brought him pride and peace.
John Is survived by his wife Carli Russo; his children, Payton and JJ Russo; his mother Margaret Russo; his brother Michael Russo and sister-in-law Anne Russo; his Uncle James Russo and Aunt Donna Russo along with many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his father, John Joseph Russo.
A private celebration of life will be held to honor John. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor John's memory by spending time with loved ones - maybe coaching a game, casting a line, or taking a ride with the windows down.
