John Frank Kruschka, 78, passed away at home on September 29, 2021, in Byron, Illinois. On March 14, 1943, to Bruno Kruschka and Connie Rafayko in Chicago, Illinois. John attended Niles East High School, graduating in the class of 1961. On May 4, 1961, John married the love of his life, Joyce Cooper. John faithfully served his community as a firefighter and paramedic for the village of Niles. John took up a special interest in fish. He was a member of Tropical Fish Clubs from 1968-1975. He also was fascinated by raising Angelfish. In his later years, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. John was a Christian, associated with the Church of Christ. John leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Joyce Kruschka; daughters, Cheryl Vertucci and Christine Anderson; grandchildren, Stephanie Nagrodess, Heather Garrity, and Desirèe Vertucci; brother, Bob Kruschka. John was preceded in death by his mother and father; Brother, Rick Kruschka. ? A gathering in remembrance for John will take place Sunday, October 24, 2021, at the family’s home in Byron, Illinois.
