John Hawthorne

John Harold Hawthorne, 78, of Loves Park, passed away on December 24, 2024, in his home. He was born on July 12, 1946, in Rockford, IL, the son of James Howard Hawthorne and Catherine Burden. He was employed by Ingersoll for a million years. John was a woodworker for 29 years, he made everything from cabinets to beautiful wooden bowls. He was an avid bike rider, 10 miles was an easy feat for him, and loved anything to do with aviation.

His survivors include his wife Sandy K. Hawthorne, his children Robert (Hilda) Hawthorne; Gene Hawthorne; Richard Whittington; Bruce Peterson; niece Terri Johnson; and his dog Suzy. He is predeceased by his parents James Howard Hawthorne and Catherine Burden; brother Jimmy Hawthorne; sisters Barb Hawthorne; Molly Hawthorne and Sue Hawthorne.
