John C. Dahlberg died peacefully on Saturday, December 12, 2020 next to his loving wife after battling a long illness. He proudly served 20 years as a Rockford Policeman from 1967 to 1987. Once retired, he stayed active with his business Aero Clean Pressure Washing Company, and later selling Amsoil Lubricants in which he also enjoyed doing. He had the best of both worlds living in Dolan Springs, AZ in the winter, and spending the summers at his campground in Wisconsin. His greatest pride and accomplishment was being in the newspaper business. He worked at the Rock River Times in Rockford, and later was the editor for the paper in Dolan Springs, AZ. He had a love of flying his Piper Cherokee airplane and aviation in general, spending a week at the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association} convention every August for many years. John was sociable! His wit had no end, and no humility and he was proud of it. He loved singing with his fellow campers while drinking a fresh "old fashioned". He truly loved life in the outdoors from being surrounded by wilderness and in the open desert mountains. He loved his wife Maureen deeply for 27 years. They shared a love for Jazz and traveled yearly to follow their favorite Jazz festivals and just go see the sites. He enjoyed going to his sons house to stay every spring and fall while transitioning homes. He had a special bond with his granddog Wally where they were inseparable right to the end. He is survived by his wife Maureen Johnson, his son Mike J. Dahlberg, step daughters Andrea Loscascio and Carrie Johnson, his granddaughter Victoria Loscascio and his first wife Terry Bankes Ullrich. His bond with his cat Tommy and his grand dogs Wally, Tack, Cookie and Tyson were beyond beautiful. A special thank you to Bill Dahlberg, talking earlier this year to him was something he cherished. Also, a special thank you to the officers of the Rockford Police Department that took the time to call, and visit the moment they heard of his situation. Although retired, he never stopped being a cop always looking out for other people's safety first.
