Joan Owens

UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION BELOW: Joan Clara Owens, 89, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022, in Rockford, Illinois. Joan was born on July 5, 1933, in Maywood, Illinois, to Anna (Hohn) and Henry Virnig. She married Mike Owens in October of 1952. She spent the majority of her life in Beloit, Wisconsin. She loved to garden each year, especially vegetables. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Patty (Steve) Lipinski, Joe (Donna) Owens, Colleen Peterson; grandchildren, Shawn, Shelly, Tom, and Kenny Joe; many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike, who passed in 2006; son, Kenny Owens, who passed in 1979; siblings, Hank, Bob, Geraldine, Rena, and Rose; niece, Barb Debroux.
A Celebration of Life for Joan will take place on Sunday, March 26, 2023, from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Octane, 124 Main Street, Rockford, IL 61101 . Stateline Cremations is assisting the family 6204 Forest Hills Road, Loves Park, Illinois 61111.
