Joan Buchanan

Joan Marie Buchanan, 80, of Belvidere, passed away on September 5, 2025, at Symphony Northwoods. She was born on January 29, 1945, in Chicago, IL; the daughter of John and Jeanette (Gutowski) Jaugilas. She graduated from Kelly High School in 1963 and married Paul Buchanan on December 1, 1984. He passed away on December 3, 2000. Joan was Jingles the Clown at the Boone County Fair for over 10 years and she painted children's faces. She loved to play handheld video games and spend time at the Keen Age Center playing cards in Belvidere.

Survivors include her son Timothy (Zikkiyyia) Kairis; daughter Amy (Beni Calderon) Buchanan; and grandchildren Tyler and Mia Kairis. She is predeceased by her parents John and Jeanette Jaugilas; husband Paul Buchanan; and brother William "Bill" Buchanan.
