Jill Tews

Jill Dianne Tews of Rockford, IL went to be with her Lord on June 11, 2020 in the home of her Daughter and Son-in-Law, after a long struggle with illness. Jill was born in Racine, WI to John and Joy Rowley (Hansen) on August 19th, 1943. Jill was the eldest daughter of a family of seven children. Jill married Roger Tews in 1962 and they had two children. She graduated college with a degree in Accounting from the University of Oshkosh and went on to work for the State of Wisconsin as an auditor for many years. Jill battled with alcoholism, and with the support of Alcoholics Anonymous, was very proud to be 33 years sober. Jill was an avid reader, and heavily used her library card throughout Green Lake and Princeton, WI. She enjoyed animals including her beloved dog Astronaut and her cats Bernie and George. Jill had an infectious laugh that could be heard halls away and loved to share company with friends and family. She was a generous and selfless woman, always willing to help and bring a smile to someone’s face in a time of need. Jill was preceded in death by her father and mother, and her sisters, Debborah and Robin. She was survived by her children Teresa (John) Morales, and Brad Tews. She had two grandchildren, Amanda (Shaun) Fuelle and Devin (Lauren Domer) Tews. She leaves behind her brothers: Tom (Tina) Rowley, Jack Rowley, Scott Rowley, Jeff (Pam) Rowley and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will take place on August 15, 2020 (time TBD) at The Federated Church in Green Lake, WI officiated by Pastor Karen Gygax Rodriguez. An internment will occur immediately after the ceremony. This will be a closed service for immediate family only. Friends and extended family are encouraged to visit at a later date. ? Thank you to all the very important and essential caregivers that have taken care of Jill over her many years of life. A special thanks to Northern Illinois Hospice for making Jill’s last days so peaceful.
