Jeffrey Parker

Jeffrey Wayne Parker died unexpectedly on Dec. 18, 2024, of natural causes at the age of 56. He departed this earth in the same city he arrived in, Rockford, IL. His family and friends were, of course, heartbroken by his sudden passing.
In life, Jeff was known endearingly as Parker, Papa Jeff, Uncle Gooney, and many others. He worked as an industrial painter at Custom Manufacturing for decades, but more importantly, he was a man of his community and of the outdoors, and was an 80s and 90s rocker, man.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church in Rockford and, later, in Poplar Grove. He also attended Lutheran High School in Illinois and Clinton High School in Wisconsin. Throughout his life, Parker stayed close to nature through fishing, hunting, smoking meat, cultivating plants and flowers, camping, and numerous outdoor activities. Parker was also socially spirited and was often found amongst his family and friends, helping build decks or setting up the best damn holiday decor you’ve ever seen. He appreciated the simple things in life; this was particularly apparent when seen spending time with the children. He was young at heart and would often be the life of a party, whether it was a family game night or Wing Ding. His unique euphemisms and humor were a hallmark of being in his company. He will be dearly missed by those he surrounded himself with.
Jeff has joined his mother, Doris Parker, who has preceded him in death, and is survived by his son and daughter, Casey Parker and Courtney (Parker) Freedman; his siblings Cindy (Parker) Byerly, Curtis Parker, and Sheri (Parker); his grandchildren Michael and Penelope.
In honor of Jefferey Parker, a Celebration of Life service will be held outdoors at Pecatonica Wetlands, Arrowhead Park, located at 5750 Best Rd. Pecatonica, IL 61063 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Please feel free to dress comfortably for the weather- just as he would have wanted it.
