Jeffery W. Simmons, age 59, of Loves Park, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Alden Park Strathmoor. Born on November 13, 1965, in Rockford, Jeff was the beloved son of Floyd and Carol Simmons.
A hardworking and self-made man, Jeff built and operated his own concrete business with pride and dedication. Jeff was a man of many passions. He found joy in the outdoors—fishing, hunting, and bowling were among his favorite pastimes. He had a competitive spirit and a playful heart, often challenging loved ones to play games of pool or spirited matches on the Wii. His love for grilling and smoking summer sausage became a cherished tradition, especially during family fish fries after many memorable fishing trips with his close friends and family. With his outgoing personality and infectious laughter, Jeff was the life of every party and a friend to all.
Though life had its ups and downs, Jeff's love for his family never wavered. He is survived by his children: Ryan (Alyssa), Brandon (Kaidie), Anthony, and Chyann Simmons; and his grandchildren: Declan, Mavis, and Jonathan, who brought him endless pride and joy. He also survived by his parents, Floyd, and Carol Simmons; his sister, Robin Phillips; nephews Aaron, Wyatt, and Jacob Phillips; Best friend and Cousin Lila Simmons and her granddaughter Robbin and family. Jeff's memory will also be cherished by the mothers of his children—Tanya Frazier, Wendy Davis, and Melissa Lagerstrom—his close friends Leroy, Del, and his loyal dog, J-Lo.
Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, a near and dear family member Gary, and his dear friend and blood brother David Allen. Both Gary and David held a special place in Jeff's heart—not just as family, but as trusted companions through life's ups and downs. Their bond was built on shared laughter, mutual respect, and countless memories that Jeff carried with him always. Jeff may be gone from this world, but never from our hearts. The family is thankful for your support.
