Jarry Travis

December 31, 1969 — July 1, 2022

Jarry Dean Travis, 78, of Machesney Park, passed away peacefully at OSF St. Anthony on July 1, 2022, surrounded by his family and friends.  Jarry was born on August 18, 1943, to John and Elizabeth (Ford) Travis in Willow Township, Richland County, WI.  He was a machinist for 43 years at Greenlee Brothers in Rockford, IL.  He loved NASCAR, the Greenbay Packers, old cars, and tractors.  He loved playing Euchre in Wisconsin with his sister, nieces, and nephews.  He also enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughter, and son-in-law going to car shows, fairs, and restaurants.  He also enjoyed being around his furry grandkids, spending time with the kids he considered to be his great grandkids.  He dearly loved his entire family, blood or not. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Garry Travis, mother and father in law, Calvin & Hazel (Newberry) Burrington, sister-in-law Sandy Burrington, and sister Ruth LeBansky, grand dogs Sammy, Molly, Daisy, and Sammi.  He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Beverly (Burrington) Travis, daughter Sheila (Dave) Spann, brother Larry (Pat) Travis, and sister Judy Cornwall, brother-in-law Jerry Burrington, and grand dog Penny; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; his best buddy who was like a brother to him, Vince; “daughter” Monica and her husband Paul;  “daughter” Amanda, “adopted” granddaughter Ellen, “adopted” grandson Derek, 3 “adopted” great-grandsons Tavian, Jackson, and Grayson, and 1 “adopted” great granddaughter Kimberlynn. A Celebration of Life will be planned for next year.
