James “Marty”

James Martin Ball “Marty,” 57, of Dixon, died April 16, 2019, in Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon after a battle with cancer. Born November 29, 1961, in Charlotte, North Carolina; son of Noah, Sr. and Toncie (Seggs) Ball. Graduated from South Rowan High School in 1978. Marty worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed anything to do mechanics, fixing things, traveling, and motorcycles.  Survivors include Marty’s significant other Dawn Challand of Dixon; mother Toncie Ball of Charlotte, NC; sons Jacob (Audi) Ball and Joshua Ball both of Oelwein, IA; grandchildren Jackie and Drake Ball; sister Rebecca (Steve) Philips of Indianapolis, IN; brother Robert (Amy) Ball of North Charleston, SC; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Noah Ball, Sr.; sisters Margaret Ellen Beaver and Patricia Ann Ball; brother Noah Edgar Ball, Jr.; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be interred in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Cremations rites have been accorded.
