James Manley

February 15, 1947 — March 15, 2024

James Allen Manley, 77, of Rockford, passed away on March 15, 2024, at Amberwood Care Centre. He was born on February 15, 1947, in Belvidere; the son of Raymond and Mina (Pinkerton) Manley. James was a Seabee in the US Navy. He was a truck driver and retired from Americold. James enjoyed visiting the Navy surplus stores, flea markets, and estate sales. He was a collector of many things. He enjoyed “fishing” and was an avid Bear’s fan.

Survivors include his daughters Dawn and Holly Manley; grandchildren Ignacio Luna IV, Antonio James Luna, Jasmin Manley, Andre Luna, Santana Manley, Danielle Drye, Melvin Drye II, Alexandria Manley, Matthew Drye, Mya Hendricks, and Addison Hendricks; siblings Penney Manley, Marcia Davis, Myron Manley, and Becky Wendt; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; grandson Sage Luna; and siblings Cinda Weiss, Mark Manley, and William Manley.

A Celebration of Life will be from 4 to 6 pm, Friday, March 22, 2024, at Penney’s Home, 309 Kenilworth Dr., Rockford, IL 61108. Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. www.statelinecremations.com
