James M. Lyles, 77, of Kings, passed away November 11, 2021, at home after a short illness surrounded by his family and friends. He was born February 15, 1944, on Pumpkin Center, Arkansas, son of Walter and Sallie (Walker) Lyles. Jim got together with Gloria Ohnstad in 1989 they have been together for the last 32 years. Jim worked in the cotton fields when he was young and learned many skills through the years. He worked tool and die at Barber Colman before going on to be an excellent body and fender specialist for Walt SAPP Auto Body. Jim and Gloria worked together fixing and repairing many rental homes and met several friends through the years. Jim and Gloria were almost always by each other’s sides. Jim was what they would call a “Jack of all trades”, as he could do just about anything, and he never met a stranger. Jim loved to cut up and joke around, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boating. Jim loved the idea of going to auctions to see what kind of treasures he could bring home and at the end of they day he loved to come home to their 2 dogs that he adored. Survived by his wife Gloria Ohnstad, his sisters Berl (Donnie) Bingham and Sally (Joe) Husky of Hoxie, AR; brothers Dean (Wanda) Lyles and Dewayne (Kay) Lyles of Paragould, AR, and Bill (Diane) Lyles of Davis, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son James Ronnie Lyles; father Walter Lyles; and mother Sallie Walker Lyles; sister Mary Light; brothers Foy and J.L. Lyles; and very special niece Karla Lyles Lighthart.
