James Adams

James Dale Adams, 79, of Rockford, died August 26, 2019 in Swedish American Hospital. Born November 19, 1939 in Peach Orchard, Arkansas; son of Vester and Leona (Brown) Adams. He was blessed to have 7 brothers and 2 sisters. He grew up in a very close-knit family. He married Jennifer L. Steffa January 31, 2002. Jim worked almost 30 years before retiring from Rockford Memorial Hospital. He loved his grandkids, WWE wrestling, and gardening. He also enjoyed sitting in his recliner and chewing tobacco. He would also ride his lawn mower over to the Old Still. Jim is survived by his wife Jenny, children Abby (Marcus Crabtree) Adams, Nicholas Adams, Tabatha (Michael Cooksey) Steffa, and Jimmy Adams; grandchildren, Harmonie, Misty, and on the way Michael James; brothers, Larry (Irene), Doug (Brenda), Dean, Mike (Sandy); sisters Deb, and Cyndi (Bill). He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard, Ronnie, and Gene; brother-in-law, Ken LaFontaine; sister-in-law Dolly Adams, and niece, Aimee LaFontaine. A Celebration of Life will be 2-5 pm, Saturday, September 7, 2019 in St. Ambrogia Society, 802 Montague Street, Rockford. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 7307 N. Alpine Road, Loves Park.
