Jalaine Taylor
October 3, 1944 — August 8, 2025
Jalaine Elizabeth Taylor, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born on October 3, 1944, Jalaine was the beloved daughter of Elzathera and Emma Jean (Lively) Taylor. She lived a life full of love, faith, and quiet strength. A devoted follower of the Lord, Jalaine's life reflected warmth, and compassion in all that she did.
Jalaine was a dedicated nurse for over 30 years before retiring, bringing care and comfort to her patients. She was a woman of many talents — a skilled seamstress known as the family's go-to for clothing repairs, a wonderful cook with a special love for Toll House cookies, and a lover of the outdoors, especially when it came to fishing.
She enjoyed crocheting, dancing, and listening to music — particularly James Brown. Even as her eyesight faded, Jalaine's love for reading never did. She was especially fond of her cherished Harley Quinn romance novels and often joked about a rich Italian man who would one day sweep her off her feet.
Jalaine graduated from Rock Valley College alongside her daughter, a moment of pride and joy. Though she valued her privacy and quiet time, her love for her family was deep and enduring. She held her children and grandchildren close to her heart and lived her life with gratitude and love.
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
