Mr. Isaac Jones, Jr., born December 3, 1937, departed this life on January 27, 2024, peacefully in his home, surrounded by loving family. Born in Alamance County, North Carolina to Isaac Weldon Jones, Sr. and Maggie Anderson Jones as their youngest son; he is preceded in death by both parents, two brothers and three sisters. Isaac was born and raised on a family farm and after graduating from Pleasant Grove Union Highschool as Class of 1957, he decided to move to
Chicago, Illinois with his Aunt Vina and Uncle Pink Miles, to seek out a life all his own. Over the years he worked various jobs and retired as a commercially certified semi driver for Cotter Trucking. He had a green thumb and enjoyed the outdoors; gardening and planting flowers, he had a love for travel, fishing, and camping, especially with his black lab Maximilian. When he wasn’t working in the yard or lending a hand to a family member or friend, you could catch him watching a football game, Nascar or a horse race. Isaac leaves behind a legacy of hard work, service to his fellow man and abundant generosity.
Isaac was preceded in death by the love of his life Constance Marie Tennant and his special nephew Jesse W. Jones, Jr. (Melva). Left to cherish his memory are his special niece Daisy Millicent Jones of Mebane, North Carolina, his Goddaughter Jessica Marie Jones Hinojosa (Dan) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Dear Friends. He was known and loved by the Tennant Family as a Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather and to the Spiniolas Family as a Beloved Friend, who will forever cherish his memory as well. Isaac Jones, Jr., was a caring, compassionate, and selfless man with values that were unwavering, truly a blessing to any and all that had the privilege to know him. Quick witted and never lacking humor, he was humble, grounded and proud of the life he led and his many accomplishments. He will forever be missed and never forgotten.
