Heather Disch

UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION: Heather Nicole Disch, 49, of South Beloit, Illinois, was surrounded by family when she passed away at Beloit Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, due to complications after a struggle with diabetes.  She was born Jan. 28, 1974, in Rockford, IL, to Carole (Disch) Moon. She attended Harlem High School where she excelled academically.  For years, she worked at many of the local Beef-A-Roo locations throughout the Rockford area. She was a voracious reader who enjoyed tabletop gaming, creating art, listening to music, and cats. Heather was an outgoing and bubbly individual who enjoyed spending time with others creatively. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.  Her love for fantasy, for make-believe, for believing in the impossible, and for pushing imagination to its furthest limits will be survived by her siblings to whom she imparted her fandoms, her fiction, and flights of fancy.  Heather is survived by her mother, Carole Moon; sister, Tara Ostergard (Jacob); brother, Darren Moon (Nicholle Bonde); brother, Dustin Moon; uncle Don Disch (Donna); uncle, Jerry Disch (Paulette); and her cat, Shadow. She is predeceased by her grandmother, Kathryn Disch; grandfather, Rex Disch; and her cat, Onyx. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Beloit Memorial Hospital for their care and attention and to Carol Hansberry and Brianna Wilkerson who were her close companions and friends in her most challenging last years. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to cover the arrangements.  A Memorial Service will be at 1:30 pm, Saturday, March 11, 2023 at The Riverside Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 9511 N. 2nd St., Machesney Park, IL 61115.
