Dr. Glorious J. Delaney-Quayle, 77, of Rockford, passed away on June 6, 2021 in her home with her family. She was born March 5, 1944 in Beloit, MS; daughter of Clifford Fleming and Beatrice Parks. Glorious was a lifetime student and always learning and studying new things. She has a BS in nursing, she has a PhD in theology, she was a cosmetology instructor, a seamstress and clothing designer, studied holistic medicine, clergy for prison ministry, and a certified counselor for children with behavior issues. She is a member of the Ambassador Peace Coalition, IL Apostolic Church of God in Chicago where she was a minister for many years, and PAW (Pentecostal Assemblies of the World). She was baptized in the River Jordan on February 26, 1977. Survivors include her husband Dennis “Bird” Quayle; children Simone (Arthur Bosley) Mason and Godiva (James) Cooks; grandchildren Noel B. Lewis, Natheania (Bervick) Simien, Boaz (Amaya) Reid, and Shalisha Reid; 7 great grandchildren; brother Donald (Michelle) Rice; nieces and nephews Rochelle Hamilton, Regina Rice, James “Jimmy” Rice, Douglas “Dougie” Rice, and Malika Alonzo; a host of great nieces and nephews; and stepchildren Elizabeth (Troy) Quayle, Michael Quayle, and Lisa Quayle. She is predeceased by her parents, and adopted mom Beatrice Rice; her husbands John Mason and Clarence Delaney; son Robert D. “Terry” Mason; grandson Airon Reid; brother James (Loretta) Rice, Clarence Rice, Sr.; and nephew Clarence Rice, Jr. There will be no service per Glorious’ wishes. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 712 Windsor Rd., Loves Park.
