George Woods

George Amos Woods of Rockford, IL departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 26, 2019 after a short illness. He was born on October 29, 1944 in Bolivar, TN; son of Amos Woods and Ceola Smith. He is survived by his favorite loving sisters Joyce (Forrest) Sain, Alice Johnson, Daisy Forbes, Tina Forbes, Betty Forbes. He came to Rockford in 1978 and met and married Dorothy Johnson. He leaves a loving wife and son Douglas Johnson and two daughters Dorothy Woods and Georgiana (Willie) Whitfield, and grandchildren William and Jazmine Whitfield, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
