George H. Stiff, Jr. was called home to Jesus on March 16, 2024. George was born May 3, 1951, to parents George, Sr. and Bernadine in Rockford, IL. In 1968 George met and married the love of his life, Jerine. They were married for a beautiful 55 years. They have two wonderful children Dawn and Paul Stiff who gave them four grandchildren and eventually 5 great grandchildren to always keep a smile on their faces and always give them busyness in their lives. George was the hardest working man who retired from Fox Valley Local 1035 in 2010. George spent the last years enjoying the view of the beautiful lake, boating trips with his family, and fishing with his wife.
He passed peacefully in his home on Lake Summerset and is survived by his wife Jerine, daughter Dawn and son Paul (Amber) Stiff; grandchildren Chris (Courtney), Taylor (Jonas), Autumn, Jersie, and Lakin; great grandchildren Braylon, Lillian, Aubree, Jonas, Jr., and Harlan; sisters Ruthie (Bill), Theresa (Jerry), and Goldie; 3 wonderful sisters-in-law Linda (Mike), Ruth Ann, and Janet (George); and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents George, Sr. and Bernadine, sisters Mary, Darlene, Iva, and Margaret; and brothers Al and Tony.
A Celebration of Life will be held on the day after George’s birthday, Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 1to 5 pm at the American Legion, 221 W. Main St., Rockton, IL 61072. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
