Gary James Saladino

Gary "Sal" J. Saladino, of Rockford, was born on August 14, 1951, and passed away on September 4, 2026, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.

Gary, affectionately known as “Sal” by his friends, married the love of his life, Cheryl, on August 16, 1985. A man of faith, Gary was a devoted Catholic who cherished his family and the life they built together.

Gary had a special love for their dog, Tootie, who brought him great joy and companionship. He also had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and loved nothing more than getting out on the open road for a ride.

Gary was pre-deceased by his wife Cheryl Saladino on July 5, 2022; and by his brother Dennis W Wilson.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Nichole Saladino and son, Gary Saladino, 2 grandsons, a great grandson and his stepson, Michael Wilson and his two children. He is also survived by his mother, Lucille Olson (Pete), and sister, Brenda Garcia (Ricky); and nieces and nephews.
