UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION:
Gary P. Roper (“Roper”), 83, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, in his home. He was born April 2, 1939, in Rockford; the son of William and Vivian Roper. He worked and owned his own business- Bill and Jim’s Pump Service. He was a member of the SM&SF Club, as well as the Eagles Club. He made a few trips to Mexico with his group of buddies over the years. His family is at peace knowing he can ride his Harley again with long time friend, Sue Knowlton. Survivors include his sons, Steven Scott (Dawn) Roper, Philip Durk (Cynthia) Roper; grandchildren, April (Kyle) Pearson, Durk (Kaimber) Roper, Samantha Roper, and Steven Roper; nieces, Denise and Dana; sister-in-law, Pat Roper. He is predeceased by his parents; brother, William Roper; daughter, Jeanine Roper; grandson, Michael.  A Celebration of Life for Roper will take place on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 12:00 P.M, within the back room of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 3829 11th Street, Rockford, Illinois.
