Frederick Kadyk

Frederick H. Kadyk, 90, of Rockford, Illinois, left this world on March 30, 2026. He was the second of five boys born to Elizabeth H. and Jacob M. Kadyk.

Fred enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1953 where while serving he met his beloved wife Janet (Rayner) in Cambridge, England. Fred and Janet were wed on September 1, 1956, and started their life together in Oklahoma after returning home to the U.S. Fred had a career in management at Illinois Bell and retired at 55. He wasn’t the early retiring type so he kept busy with various positions that led to his final retirement at 88 with OSF HealthCare where he enjoyed meeting and befriending dozens of people. Fred was very active in the Presbyterian church throughout his life.

He leaves behind his wife of 69 years Janet, daughters Debra (Thomas) Woods and Jamie Schoeneman as well as 4 grandchildren: Courtney, Scott, Derek (Alyssa) and Kellie (Mark) and 6 great-grandchildren: Giovanni, Mila, Wilson, Julian, Rhys and Romeo. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Folkert and his wife Jean, brother Peter and his wife Anne, and brother Willem.
