Frank J. "Mick" Fransen Jr., 66, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully at home on December 7, 2024. Born on August 26, 1958, in Oregon, IL, Mick's warmth, humor, and love for life touched everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank J. Fransen Sr. and Jeannine (Robinson) Fransen. Mick was a man who embraced simplicity and honor in every aspect of his life. Known for his hardworking nature, he always put the needs of others above his own, leaving a lasting legacy of kindness and selflessness. A dedicated Harley Davidson enthusiast, Mick found joy in the open road and the freedom that riding brought. He worked the majority of his life as a highly skilled machinist. Above all, Mick was a beloved husband, father, grandfather (Papa), brother, and friend. His ability to listen, love, and support others was a gift to all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Marie (Leombruni) Fransen; daughters, Shannon Moline-Giron and Tracie (Mark) Robertson; sister, Lea Ann “Annie” Dean; and grandchildren, Isabella, David, Isaac, Desmond, Isla, and Isaiah.
Mick’s presence in the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him will be deeply missed. His legacy of love, loyalty, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have shared in his journey.
