Elaine Davidson

Elaine Rita (West) Davidson, 84 years old, passed away July 19, 2020 at home with her family by her side. Elaine was born April 12, 1936 in Ottawa, IL to parents George D. West and Florence (Ballard) West. Elaine also had wonderful foster parents Frank and Louise Stevens who loved and cared for her as their own. Elaine attended East High School and then joined the US Army. She was stationed in Japan where she met and married the father of her 4 children. Elaine was the most loving, caring, and kind-hearted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her stories and songs will be forever remembered as well as her generosity towards family, friends, and even strangers. She loved every minute spending time with family and friends and held them close to her heart.
Elaine worked Loss Prevention for many years in the Rockford area including most recent Wal-Mart, where she retired after 17 years at age 79. She worked at Builder’s Square, Eagle Food, DJ Stewart, Bergner’s, Bargains, and spend 25 years at Union Hall. She was the best in her field.
Our mother was faithful in her religion and her belief and trust in Jehovah God with whom she served for over 55 years. Her strength and courage in raising her four children alone was only done with the help of Jehovah God at her side. She was a loyal servant to Jehovah and gave thanks daily to Him in prayer as well as door to door service. She used every opportunity to teach His word and offer hope of a better and eternal life. Isaiah 65:17-25. Elaine is survived by her children Kevin (Connie) Davidson, Timothy Davidson and fiancé Marcy Slocum, Katrina (Johnny) Young, and Kristi (Skipton) McKenzie; sister Darlene (Pete) Wright; brothers Gary (Rosemary) West and Dallas (Shirley) West; Elaine’s legacy lives on with grandchildren: Ciara, Savanna, Tracey, Braeton, Rachael, Kobi, Spencer, Alexis, Austin, Trevor, Andrew, Ryan, Connor, Cassie, Hunter, Sarah, and Katie; and great-grandchildren Maddex, Jazlyn, Zaiden, Oliver, Geneva, Elias, Ellie, Abbey, Izzy, Emilie, Felicity, Stella, Grayson, Amari, Ava, Audrey, Orly, Quinn, Zayda, Lennon, Lacy, Lexi, Austin, Aaron, Adam, and one more in the oven due November 2020. She is predeceased by her parents; twin sister Charmaine; sisters Teresa, Phylliss, Joan, Julie, Heidi, and Lonnie; and brothers Gerry, Freddy, and George. Our family would like to give special thanks to Wendy (Slick) Davidson for her continued love and compassion towards our mother. We would also like to thank OSF Hospice for their abilities and allowing our mother to pass with the utmost dignity and respect. Thank you to Lisa, Janelle, Julie, Alice, and Marilyn.
