Eddie R. Hare, 91, of Rockford, formerly of Wappapello, MO, passed away on January 5, 2022, surrounded by his family at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Born June 3, 1930, in Fulton, MS; son of Edgar and Amelia (Dozier) Hare. He is an Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW and Eagles Club in Wappapello, MO. Eddie loved to be outside. He loved to hike, fish, go boating, and swim. He was always taking care of his yard and stayed active well into his 80’s. Eddie was a huge fan of old Western movies and tv shows and was a country music buff. He could tell you anything you would want to know about the legends in country music. He faithfully read his Bible and loved to spend time with his grandchildren, including great and great-great grandchildren. Eddie had a lot of spunk and was known for his one-line comebacks. He will be missed by his family. Survivors include his children Linda (Tommy) Rambo, Roger Hare, Vicki Whitman, Kathleen (Louie) Scharr, Lisa (Keith) Sappington, and Teresa Lowder; grandchildren Tracey (Charles) Lane, Heather Wellwood, Christy (Jason) Kunz, Christopher (Julie) Hare, Dawn Hare, Sara (Ron) Boxrud, Alexander Hare, Levi Scharr, Kayley, Emily, and Blaine Sappington, and Sam (Ashly) Lowder; 30 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents and all of his siblings Guy, Cecil, Edgar, Winfred, Inez, Marie, Charlie Mae, and James; granddaughter Elizabeth Peppers; and grandson Shane Lowder.
