UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION: Dwayne Everett Long, 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Dwayne was born at home in Boone county, IL, on February 3, 1941, to Edna Spohnholz and Dale H. Long. He attended West High School, and graduated in the class of 1960. On October 12, 1963, Dwayne married Diana Sue Burdick. He went on to be a machinist, and co-owner, of Dale H. Long Screw Machine Products. Dwayne was a Christian.  He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Diana; son, Ryan Long; grandchildren, Zach Adams, Madden Adams, and Gabe Long; brothers, Chester (Jorgiann) Long and Norman (Melinda) Long; sister, Irene Beetle; many fun loving cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale Long and Edna (Spohnholz) Oldejans; daughter, Danielle Adams; brother-in-law, Bob Beetle; niece, Kathleen Schulz; sister-in-law, Peggy Nelson. Dwayne’s family would like to publicly thank Heartland Promedica Hospice, as well as many caring friends, for their support and care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dwayne’s honor to Heartland Promedica Hospice, the Rockford Rescue Mission, or the American Institute of Cancer Research- either would be greatly appreciated.  An informal "celebration of life" will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., at the Venetian Club, 2180 Elmwood Road, Rockford, Illinois 61103. A private burial will be held. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 712 Windsor Road, Loves Park, IL 61111.
