Douglas "Doug" Charles Swanson, 75, of Caledonia, passed away in his home on October 29, 2025. He was born on November 4, 1949, in Rockford, IL, the son of Oliver and Helen (Hoffman) Swanson. Doug married Mary M. Sanderson on January 18, 1969, at the Church by the Side of the Road in Rockton, IL. He worked as a union plumber for many years and was also an inspector in the Schaumburg area and for Winnebago County. He played racquetball with Mary in his younger years and attempted pickleball in his 70s. He enjoyed watching Formula 1 racing and followed NFL on TV.

Survivors include his wife Mary; sisters Debbie (Mike) Condne and Denise (Mike) Lindquist; brother Duane (Sue) Swanson; several nieces and a nephew along with great nieces and great nephews; and his wire-haired fox terrier Charlie. He is predeceased by his parents Oliver and Helen Swanson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 21, 2025, Friday, 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Frank Lloyd Wright Chapel, Belvidere Cemetery, 1121 N. Main St. Belvidere, IL 61008. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. www.statelinecremations.com
