Douglas Patterson

August 16, 1955 — April 20, 2025

Douglas James Patterson passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20 , 2025 , with his brother by his side in Rockford, Illinois. Born August 16, 1955, he was a 1973 Jefferson High graduate, where with his athletic skills and friendly nature, he cultivated lifelong friendships. Doug was an independent agent in the transportation industry at Landstar, Inway , and finally his own business, Chicago Heavy Haul.

Doug will be missed on the golf course, by the Goon Squad, and his ban d of traveling golf friends. A Packer, White Sox, and all things basketball fan, Doug was a "go to" for picking the Final Four. Doug will be remembered for his blue sweaters, blue polos, his on-point one liners (always said with a smile), his love for classic seventies rock, his thoughtfulness, and for being an all-around fun guy. He will be missed .

Doug leaves behind his mother, Janet, brother Brad (Susan), sister Nancy (Teri), nieces and nephews, stepmother Gwen and special friend, Denise. Predeceased, by his father, Jim, and brothers Steve and Ron.
