Douglas D. Jones, 60, of Machesney Park, IL, passed away at home on January 24, 2022, after a hard battle with cancer. He was Born on October 5, 1961, to William and Shirley (Redfield) Jones. On March 27, 1984, he married, Kandy A. Plasters, his wife of nearly 38 years. Doug was always a man with a project. He loved working with his hands and especially with wood. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his Harley and listening to music, especially Rock and Blues. He was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers and had fond memories of pretending to be Bart Starr as a child. Of all Doug’s interests, the most important was spending time with his grandchildren. Doug is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Kandy; sons Tanner (Jennifer), Kyle (Veronica), and Cody (Mandy); grandchildren Lucas, Toby, Evan, Kayla, and Jonathan; siblings Diane (Bruce) Levey, Dana (Clyde) Grooms, and David (Lezette) Jones; Mother-in-law, Marsha Plasters; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and infant sister Cynthia. A Celebration of Life will be February 5th from 12:00-4:00pm at Journey Church, 7825 Forest Hills Rd. Loves Park, IL.
