Dorwin Richmond

December 12, 1936 — February 12, 2024

Dorwin L. Richmond, Jr., 87, of Rockford, passed away in his home surrounded by his family on February 12, 2024. Born December 12, 1936, in Kirksville, Missouri; the son of Dorwin Sr. and Nellie (Veach) Richmond. Dorwin married Vivian L. Derry on August 9, 1960. He worked as a furniture delivery driver for Rockford Standard and Bloomquist Furniture companies. Dorwin and Vivian were members of Victory Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on old cars and trucks. Dorwin enjoyed being outside, whether it was yardwork or taking care of projects around the house. He will be missed by his family.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Vivian; children Steven (Shannon Taylor), Jason, and Wendy Richmond; 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother Garwin (Pat) Richmond; sister Diane (Lester) Wilson; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; daughters Vicky and Darla; and sisters Mary and Betty.
