Donald Lee Pete, 71, of Machesney Park, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Javon Bea Hospital. He was born on January 7, 1954, in Madison, Wisconsin; the son of Robert and Alice (Hohlstein) Pete. Don graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1972. He married Christy Lee Anderson on April 12, 1975. Don worked as a steel fabricator and retired in 2019 from Custom Fab. Don and Christy and their family enjoyed camping at Woodhaven. They also enjoyed traveling to St. Germain, Wisconsin, each summer to visit family. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Macktown Men's Association. When Don couldn't golf anymore, his new favorite past time became playing slots at casinos.

Survivors include his loving wife Christy; children Robert Pete, Tammy Daugherty, and Randy (Tawna) Pete; grandchildren Celsie and Carson Romero, Donovan Pete, Allison, and Alaina Pete, and Macy Daugherty; brother David (Shirley) Pete; several nieces and nephews; and his dogs Stella and Fudgie. He is predeceased by his parents; granddaughter Morgan Perteete; and sisters Sandra Griffin and Vicky Meyer.
