Donald Mailand

Donald Lee Mailand, 60, of Rockford, passed away on June 16, 2023, in his home. He was born on September 25, 1962, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the son of Donald H. and Eva (Walters) Mailand. Donald worked for a few companies as a heat treater. He was known for helping his neighbors, whether someone needed their lawn mowed or snow shoveled, or anything in between, he was always there to lend a hand. He even assisted the kids in the neighborhood fixing their bikes. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed watching NASCAR, and playing video games. Donalds survivors include his children Chris (Felicia) Mailand, Tim (Johana Avila) Mailand, and Stephanie Mailand; grandchildren Eli and Jaxon Mailand, Aiden and Alexis Rowe, Brycen, Makayla, and Conner Mailand; sisters Tammy Gilgan, Judy (Chuck) Critcher, Deborah (Jesse) Tucker, and Barb (Brent) Jakeway; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, brother George Mailand, and brother-in-law Kenneth Gilgan. A Celebration of Life will be Noon to 4pm, Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the Rivers Edge Recreation Center, 1151 W. Locust St., Belvidere, IL 61008.
