Dominic Negri

Dominic Phillip Negri, Roscoe, IL, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Born to Eleanor (Wills) and Dominic Louis Negri on February 5, 1940, in Ironwood, MI. He grew up in Gile, WI. After his service in the Navy, he found his way to Rockford in 1957 to work as a lineman for Commonwealth Edison and retired in 1995. His marriage to Kathleen produced three children. He enjoyed many years of snowmobiling where he met his life partner of the past 28 years, Jean Dunn.
Survivors include his partner, Jean Dunn; children, Jodie Ann (Mike) Greene, Jeff (Dana) Negri and Sheila (Tony) Finley, 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; sister, Donna Barna in Green River, WY; Jean’s children, Lori Hinueber, Lana (Scott) Harker and Ryan Roberson and their children and grandchildren. Dominic was predeceased by parents, sister, Rhoda Ann Andersen and ex-wife, Kathleen. The family wishes to thank the amazing OSF Cancer Center and Dr. Korkmaz and his wonderful staff. Also, a special thanks to OSF Hospice, especially Amy, who is an angel on earth.
