Dolores Fortuna

Dolores Joann Fortuna, 90, of Belvidere, passed away on October 3, 2023. Born October 5, 1932, in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Herbert and Anna (Kresser) Herzfeldt. Dolores married Anthony “Ted” Fortuna on Sept. 12, 1954. Dolores was a faithful member of St. James Church in Belvidere and attended services regularly. She attended multiple activities at both the Keenage Center and her apartment complex. She also enjoyed being a part of TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly) for many years. Her favorite pastime was taking care of her grandchildren when they were young and spending time with them as they grew up. Dolores was a big fan of football, both college and professional. She was also a diehard Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors include her children: Anthony (Karla) Fortuna, Mike (Lisa) Fortuna, and Diane Deddo. Grandchildren: Jay and Allison Fortuna, Shannon (Kieth) Gothard, Amber Polk, Matthew and Brian Rosinski, and Devin and Sara Deddo.  Great grandchildren: Kaylee Fortuna, Damyen, Apollo, Aurora and Freya Gothard, Vincent Polk. Siblings Fred (Jan) Herzfeldt and Marlene Lavryk; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; husband Ted; and siblings Margaret, Bertha, Hank, Herb, and Norrine. A memorial/celebration of life will be held on Oct 29 th at Wilder Mansion, 211 S. Prospect Ave, Elmhurst, IL 60126 from 11am to 3pm.
