Diana Joan Reynolds, age 75, was born on March 1, 1951, in Rockford, Illinois, to Janet and George Vogel. She was the second eldest of four daughters. On March 23, 2026, Diana passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family, after a courageous battle with cancer and congestive heart failure.
Diana attended Rockford East High School and graduated in 1969. That same year, she married her lifelong love, Donald Reynolds. They shared 56 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they raised three beautiful daughters, all very different, but equally loved beyond measure. Her family never had to second guess her love—she showed it every day.
While raising her family, Diana worked at Danfoss for 30 years, where she built lasting friendships and earned the nickname DJ.
Diana was a woman of many talents and passions. She attended beauty school and became not only skilled at her craft, but also the family’s personal beautician for a time. She had a special way of taking care of others, often putting them before herself.
In her spare time, Diana was an avid baker, she dreamt of opening up her own bakery. Her baked good brought people together and created memories filled with laughter, love, and playful arguments over who would get the last piece. Many would say you could taste the love she put into everything she made.
She also enjoyed gardening and took great pride in her patio vegetable garden. If she planted it, it grew. When she wasn’t baking or gardening, she could often be found enjoying the outdoors on camping trips, sitting around the fire, and spending time with those she loved most.
Diana’s family meant everything to her, and she made sure each and every one of them know how deeply they were loved. She taught her family not only through words, but through her actions—showing them how to love, care, and be there for one another. Her love extended beyond family, touching the lives of many. She was an amazing woman, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother that people name their children after. She was a beautiful soul, and many considered her an earth angel---now she is a heavenly angel.
She was preceded in death by her father George Vogel.
She is survived by her mother, Janet Vogel; her sisters Georgia Smith, Susan Sunday, and Barbra (Ty) Wadley; her husband Donald Reynolds; her daughters Jennifer (Thomas) Wenger, Kristine Reynolds, and Amanda Reynolds; her grandchildren Amber Rarrick, Donald Huston, Jamie (Daivd) Terry, Tabitha Jessie, and Kaylena Birmingham; and her many great grandchildren, 13 and counting.
