Devin Michael Henry, 42, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on July 28, 2026. He was born on August 23, 1983, to Mike and Sheri Henry.
Devin was a deeply sensitive, thoughtful, and creative soul. He found his truest expression through art, creating pieces that reflected his unique perspective and imagination. He was also a talented cook who worked at several Rockford restaurants, including Octane, Vintage, and Woodfire, where he enjoyed experimenting with gourmet dishes and new flavors. Devin loved literature, collected rare vinyl records and music posters, and had a special affection for animals, especially cats, whose companionship brought him great joy.
Devin is lovingly remembered by his mother, Sheri Henry; his father, Mike Henry; his brother, Trevor Henry and wife, Jodi, and their children, Nora, Nolan, and Lily Henry; his uncle and aunt, Joel and Linda Lindquist; his uncle and aunt, Jerry and Mary Henry; his aunt, Cathy Baxter; a special thanks to his very close dear friends: Peter Gulatto and Stephanie Kriehn, along with many extended family members and friends. Finally, to the dedication of the Rockford Firemen in the MIH Team (especially Ryan/Ryan) assisting in Devin’s wellness … thank you guys.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Eleanor Thompson, and Raymond and Elizabeth Henry; and by his uncle, Brent Thompson.
Though his time with us was far too short, Devin’s creativity, gentle spirit, and the love he shared with those around him will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
A celebration of Devin’s life and artistic spirit will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to an animal rescue or shelter, the Salvation Army (18th Ave), of these all reflect Devin’s compassionate spirit. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. www.statelinecremations.com
