Debra R Bergeron

Debra “Debbie” Renae Bergeron, 64, of Rockford, passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2026, in her home. She was born on March 1, 1962, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Stanley M. Beksel and Karen J. (Hollenbeck) Beksel.

Debra was a caregiver, whether that was for people or animals. She enjoyed being out in nature whenever possible. She was of the Lutheran faith. She passed her time watching tv and always loved having possession of the remote. She also enjoyed listening to country and classic rock music, Garth Brooks being her favorite artist. Debra had a sweet tooth, especially for M&M’s.

Survivors include her son Gregory (Taylor Malcomson) Bergeron; granddaughter Sophia and one granddaughter on the way; parents Stanley (Sharon) Beksel; and Karen Beksel; sisters Brenda (Greg) Beksel-Hood, Marcia (Bill) Telford, Lori (Paul Phillips) Beksel, and Carrie Emerson; brothers Marcus (Stephanie) Beksel and Stanley A. Beksel; several nieces and nephews; partner Steve Bragg; and cat Miracle. She is predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents; Dan Nihan; and several pets.

A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date.
