Deborah Pischel

Deborah “Debbie” S. (Christenson) Pischel, 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29, 2023, surrounded by her family and friends. Left to cherish Debbie’s memories are her daughter Valerie and her sons Carl and Wesley Pischel; mother Barbara Christenson; sisters Cindy, Nancy, Sara, and Amy; seven grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Russell Pischel, and parents Charles and Marilyn Christenson. Debbie was born in Storm Lake, IA and graduated from Marathon High School in 1975. Debbie and Russell were married in 1976 and made their home in Machesney Park, IL. Debbie worked at Walter Lawsons Children’s Home for 21 years as a certified nursing assistant and retired in 2019. Debbie enjoyed chicken collectibles and gardening. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed at the family.
