David L. Schwitters, 70, passed away on February 9, 2026. He was born on August 30, 1955, at Chanute Air Force Base to Charles and Patricia Schwitters and grew up in Rochelle, Illinois.
David proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1973 to 1977. He often shared stories of his experiences with pride and humor.
He was a simple man who enjoyed the things that mattered most — fishing, spending time with his buddies, and sharing a good story. David was a member of the Moose Club. Outgoing and warm-hearted, he truly never met a stranger.
David will be remembered for his love of country, his loyalty to his friends, and the many stories that will continue to be told in his honor.
David’s survivors include his parents Charles and Patricia; numerous nieces and nephews; and several cousins. He is predeceased by his brothers John and Bruce Schwitters.
