David Alan Schade, 71, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. David was born on April 4, 1951, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Irma (McCullough) and Merle Schade. He attended Rockford West High School, graduating in the class of 1969. David was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He went on to work at Sundstrand for over 20 years. David was an all-around lover of sports. He played softball and went bowling locally through the years. He rooted for the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears and looked forward to watching each and every game. He also loved taking long bike rides whenever he had the chance. He is survived by his children, Kate Irvin and Jason Schade; grandchildren, Jordan Irvin, Jayden Schade and Matthew Carroll; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Carroll; sisters, Debbie Adams and Diane (Marc) Brennan; brother-in-law, Dave Phillips; many nieces and nephews; mother of his children, Susan Pollard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irma and Merle; siblings, Dean Schade and Denice Phillips; brother-in-law, Gene Adams. A Celebration of Life for David will take place Monday, October 24, 2022, at the Lombardi Club, 209 Olive Street, Rockford, Illinois 61107, from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
