David Daughtry

David A. Daughtry, 53, of Rockford passed away October 3, 2020 in his home. Born May 10, 1967; son of Jesse (Gail) Daughtry and Patricia Hamm. He was a brother, uncle, and friend to many. Beloved father of Hailey, Daniel, and Travis. David was a man of fun and laughter, he enjoyed fishing and the sunny days he was able to ride his motorcycle. His sense of humor was one of a kind and when he entered a room he made sure you knew it; all eyes on him because he thought/knew he was the coolest. David was always the truest version of himself. As one of David’s favorite songs would say and lines we truly believe he will continue on by, “for I must be traveling on now, ‘cause there’s too many places I’ve got to see…’Cause I’m as free as a bird now and this bird you cannot change.” In a true David fashion, he and Eddie VanHalen are fishing on a lake, strumming a guitar, and passing a pack of smokes. Survivors include his 3 children Hailey, Daniel, and Travis Daughtry; father Jesse (Gail) Daughtry; siblings Jay (Tammy) Daughtry, Kevin (Georgine) Daughtry, Lori (Michael) Osborne, and Dana Carlson; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Patricia. There will be a Celebration of Life for David 3-6 pm, Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Attitudes Bar & Grill, 10124 N. 2nd Street, Machesney Park, IL 61115.
