David Cadie

January 3, 1959 — January 8, 2024

David Scott Cadie, 65, of Oregon, passed away peacefully in his home on January 8 ^th , 2024, surrounded by his family with his wife and children holding his hand. David was born on January 3 ^rd , 1959, at the Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska; the son of Gerald and June (Beck) Cadie. David graduated from Dekalb High School in 1977 and continued to Sheet Metal Workers Apprentice School for six years. He married Debra Kay Duffy on December 23 ^rd , 1988, in Sycamore, Illinois and was a very loving husband and father to their three children. After graduating David was employed by Sheet Metal Workers Local #219, and later worked for Lifescape and Oregon Ace Hardware. He enjoyed cars, going on drives in his 1968 Corvette, boating, guns, cooking, grilling, and spending time with family and friends. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed watching birds, especially hummingbirds and orioles. David additionally loved all three of his Labrador Retrievers: Paislea, Bella, and Daisy. David was preceded in death by his father Gerald Cadie.

Survivors include his loving wife Debbie; three children Nicholas Cadie, Chris (Alyssa) Cadie, and Ashley Cadie; four grandchildren Landin Calloway, Lilly, Taylor, and Gunner Cadie; Mother June Cadie, sister Maryann (Patrick) Diedrich; and several nieces and nephews.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life that will be announced at a later date. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd, Loves Park, IL, 61111.
