With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished Daniel Pattison, 70, of Loves Park, IL, who passed away on June 22, 2024. Born on July 2, 1953, in Rockford, Daniel was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather who lived with a passion for the outdoors and a deep love for his family. He was proud of the things he made and his knowledge he shared as a CNC Machinist with more than 30 years of experience and retired in 2020.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol Pattison; children, Angela (Brandon), Bryan, Anne, and Scott (Kristi); grandchildren, Leanna, Dominic, Jadyn, Dario, Aubrey, and Kaylana; siblings, Susanne (Brad), Michael (Denise), Patrick, Robert (Joanie), and Donald (Cassie); numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orlando Pattison and Joanne Dolan (Raisbeck), and his father-in-law, Donald Skilling.
Known for his love of fishing and being quite the handyman, Daniel could often be found at the lake, rod in hand, enjoying the peace of the outdoors. An avid sports fan, he rooted passionately for the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs and took great joy in watching his grandchildren play various sports. Daniel also had a knack for teaching and could fix nearly anything, often found tinkering in his garage on a car repair project. He played softball and enjoyed watching basketball and football with friends and family.
A ceremonial celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 1 pm to 6 pm at the Rock Cut State Park Red Oak Picnic Shelter.
