Daniel Macias

Daniel Phillip Macias was born on January 15, 1953, to Manuel and Marge Macias in Rockford, IL. He had three brothers, Michael, Charles, and Richard. They grew up in New Milford, IL and Dan graduated from Guilford High School. Dan had a passion for motorcycles, corvettes, and music. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. Dan followed in his father’s footsteps making a career working at Sundstrand, retiring after 30 years. Dan spent his free time in his garage working on anything with a motor and listening to music. He loved to read car magazines and collected guitars, and knives. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Dan passed away peacefully on August 29, 2022, after a short battle with leukemia. He was 69 years old.  Dan is survived by his wife Charlotte; daughter Jamie (Ricardo) Mancilla; son Kyle (Crysta) Macias; stepchildren Ian Hawker, Jeremy Hawker, and Melissa (Rob) Lytle; his granddaughters Brenna and Kinsley Macias, and many nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Marge, and brothers Michael and Richard. A Celebration of Life will be held in Dan’s honor on Monday, September 12, 2022, from 3 to 6 pm at the Lombardi Club, 209 Olive St., Rockford, IL 61107.
