Daniel Lee Cooper, 70, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away August 6, 2025, in his home. Born March 1,1955, in Rockford Illinois. The son of Harlod L. Cooper and Mary L. Matthews (Cooper - D'amico). Dan graduated from Harlem High School, class of 1973. He received a Mechanical Engineering Degree from RVC. Worked at National Lock as a header die operator, Worked at Elco, Rockford Fastner as a Tool and Die Maker where he took early retirement due to medical conditions. He was a certified scuba diver (PADI advanced open water).

Beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother. His pride and joy were his family and his '82 Firebird. Dan loved to tinker on all kinds of projects, was very meticulous and took pride in all that he did from projects around the house, his car, truck and his yard. Dan loved to travel, had a love for the ocean and marine life and liked to ride go-carts {specifically at Volcano Falls}.

Survived by his sister Laura (Denise) Hyser (Victor / Tony), daughter Lisa Cavin (Shorty); granddaughter Serenity Stover, step-grandsons Colton Cavin, Devin Cavin, Bryce Cavin; and unofficially adopted granddaughter Abi Moss. Predeceased by his father Harold L. Cooper; mother Mary L. Matthews (Cooper/D'amico); cousin Pamela Cooper-Smith; and nephew Jeff Fulkerson.
