Dale Blegen

Dale Allen Blegen, 60, of Rockford, passed away October 18, 2023. He was born January 24, 1963, in Chicago, IL; the son of Karen Blegen and Lawrence Bilodeau. Dale was raised by his grandparents Hazel and Orville Blegen. Dale graduated from East High School in 1982. He worked as a grinder for Reg-Ellen Machine Tool for 13 years. At any given time, Dale worked 2 jobs. He enjoyed staying busy and working. Dale enjoyed watching sports, especially the Cubs and the Steelers. Rick Springfield was his idol, and he even had some memorabilia signed by him. Survivors include his children Bryant (Ashley Wilkinson) Blegen, Sierra (Rex) Foltz, and Jesse Blegen; grandchildren Aaliyah, Andrew, Isabella, Bayley, and Bryton; his mother Karen Johnson; siblings Stuart (Anna Marie) Swick, II, Gregory (Erica Robbins) Swick, and Samantha (Robert) Riley; several nieces and nephews; and the mother of his children Vicki Dobbs. He is predeceased by his father Lawrence Bilodeau; grandparents Hazel and Orville Blegen; brother Mike Swick; and several aunts and uncles. The family will hold a private Celebration of Life.
