Constance Marie Hazer (Showers), 62, of Loves Park, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born June 5, 1964, in Beloit, WI, to Allan and Elinor Showers of Caledonia, IL. She was the youngest of 9 children.
She graduated from North Boone High School with her class in 1982. When not staying at home raising her children, Connie spent many years working in retail as a supervisor at various stores such as Cub Foods, Target, Hilander, and most recently Schnucks in Loves Park. Connie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her family. Connie was a proud mother but all of her grandchildren who called her “Yia Yia” were her favorite and most proud accomplishments in life.
Her lifelong love for the Boone County Fair was shared with her children and grandchildren, becoming a family tradition to go with “Yia Yia” to the fairgrounds for “Kids Day”. She enjoyed fishing with her family, long bike rides with her husband, and coming home to grill a nice filet. Watching her grandchildren compete in multiple sports or activities brought her great joy.
Survivors include her husband William “Bill” Hazer of Loves Park, children Ashley (Mike) Spohr of Rockford, Emily (Richard) Wauchope of Caledonia, Kyle (Matt) Johnson of Mankato, MN, and Hailey (Adam) Orlove of Belvidere, stepchildren Nikita (Mike) Erickson of Rockford and Kyle Hazer of Loves Park, grandchildren Kamryn, Elinor, Noah, Ava, Poppy, Max, Evelyn, Owen, Jaylynn, and Avianna, siblings Stan, Wendy, and Mary, as well as mother-in-law Verlys, several nieces and nephews. Connie is predeceased by her parents Allan and Elinor, as well as siblings Roger, Jean, Jackie, Ralph, James, brother-in-law Dave, and father-in-law Richard “Shorty”.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm, Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the 3LLL Club, 1515 9th St., Rockford, IL. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the family. Stateline Cremations is assisting the family, 6204 Forest Hills Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111. www.statelinecremations.com
